In Venezuela, Speak No Ill of Hugo

This is incredible, this is the very same “democratic”  guy that when to NY and call bush “the devil”. His sense of democracy is quite interesting, “if you do what I do, you go to jail”

Many foreigners can travel to Venezuela without a visa. But now there’s a new requirement once they get there. President Hugo Chavez announced on Sunday that foreigners who publicly criticize his government will be deported. He ordered officials to monitor statements made by international figures visiting the country.

Americans Set Record for Donations in 2006

When some people ask me “what you like the most about living here in the States”, the answers varies depending upon a little bit of the person who is asking. I would not lie, but sometimes I use my #2 or my #4 reason knowing that they would understand it and feel ok with it. Here in private, between you and me and anyone willing to read my blog. The real reason is laziness. Laziness for me to take the shorter path (path of least resistance) to help the humanity, to help my beloved Venezuela.

Trying to do major changes to the world from the third country is really really hard. Instead, I decided for me and my family to try to do it from here. With the most generous people in the world the United State Citizens 🙂

Enjoy this note … it is incredible what people is doing here in USA to help others. I am not trying to convey an angelical image of perfection, I am not talking about no wrong doing. There are many things that could improve. But I am sure, this is the nation call to lead the future. Here I am. Thanks

(…)Americans gave nearly $300 billion to charitable causes last year, setting a new record and besting the 2005 total that had been boosted by a surge in aid to victims of hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma and the Asian tsunami.

Donors contributed an estimated $295.02 billion in 2006, a 1 percent increase when adjusted for inflation, up from $283.05 billion in 2005.

(…) Individuals gave a combined 75.6 percent of the total.

(…) “It tells you something about American culture that is unlike any other country,”
(…) Americans give twice as much as the next most charitable country, according to a November 2006 comparison done by the Charities Aid Foundation. In philanthropic giving as a percentage of gross domestic product, the U.S. ranked first at 1.7 percent. No. 2 Britain gave 0.73 percent, while France, with a 0.14 percent rate, trailed such countries as South Africa, Singapore, Turkey and Germany.
